NORTH PATHS
They are located right nearby. The NORDPFAD Wümmeniederung trail, with a total length of 32.5 km, runs directly past our house. The other four NORDPFADE trails in the area are also easily accessible. These are:
NORTH PATH
Wümme lowlands (32 km)

Endless expanse beneath a wildly moving sky
Since the penultimate Ice Age, the Wümme River has shaped a unique North German river landscape: the Wümme lowlands with their meadows, floodplains, and wooded dunes. The NORDPFAD trail runs sometimes closer to the river, sometimes further away, and repeatedly offers magnificent views of the expansive meadows of the Wümme lowlands.
NORDPFAD
Dör´t Moor (10 km)

On nature trails through moor, forest and heath
The 654-hectare "Großes und Weißes Moor" nature reserve is one of the best-preserved raised bogs in Lower Saxony. Here, the NABU Rotenburg, in cooperation with the Rotenburg (Wümme) district, has created four nature trails, one of which is the NORDPFAD "Dör't Moor". A delight for every nature lover!
NORDPFAD
Wolfsgrund (5 km)

Landscape history trail for people with reduced mobility
The NORDPFAD trail leads over a geest ridge, past the Wolfsgrund nature reserve - one of the largest contiguous heathland areas outside the Lüneburg Heath, with its inland dunes and depressions; all evidence of the interplay between warm and ice ages.
NORTH PATH
Rotenburg Water Kingdom (21 km)

City - Country - River
No matter where you start in Rotenburg, you'll quickly find yourself by the river! The Wümme, Rodau, and Wiedau rivers all flow through this district capital. The town is always present, yet also feels distant, especially when hiking through the meadows, forests, and moorlands and reaching the Bullenseen lakes.
NORTH PATH
Federlohmühlen (14 km)

Romantic mills amidst enchanted forests
A hike from the beautiful farming village of Riekenbostel through magnificent and diverse forests to the idyllic mill of the picturesque Federlohmühlen - perfect for relaxing and recharging!
NORDPFAD
Kempowskis Idylle
(12 km)

Moors, megalithic tombs and the birthplace of a famous writer.
The NORDPFAD trail invites you to explore the Steinfelder Holz forest, the Stellingsmoor moor, and the village of Nartum, surrounded by fields and meadows and home to 750 inhabitants. Walter Kempowski, an important German writer of the 20th century, lived here for 42 years.
